Notice who was working with the Iranian scientists, according to this Iranian news article…past news stories, such as a report by Iran Watch in 2004, and an exhibit of domestic laser technology in Tehran in February this year, show Iran’s long interest and expertise in the use of lasers. The obvious question is how close is it this technology to being practical? Very close. Alarm is being raised about the security of licensing the use of lasers for enriching nuclear fuel. See the Financial Times article on security and laser nuclear technology from May, 2010
Iranian scientists discovered a secure method to produce nuclear energy with the help of laser technology.
TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian scientists discovered a secure method to produce nuclear energy with the help of laser technology.
Scientists from the Science and Research Branch of Iran’s Islamic Azad University Plasma Physics Research Center in collaboration with scholars from the US, Australia and China achieved a breakthrough on nuclear fusion which found a way for access to clean nuclear energy via laser instead of radioactive material.
Amir Hossein Sari, Head of Experimental Labs of Science and Research Branch of Islamic Azad University Plasma Physics Research Center, said nuclear scientists have always sought a way to produce nuclear energy through reactions but without radiation and without facing a challenge in dumping radioactive wastes. And now Iranian scholars have achieved a proper and secure method to do so through the laser technology, he added.
Elaborating on the achievement, Sari mentioned that the same reaction used in the scientific research takes place in nuclear reactions on stars, including the Sun.
