Better late than never! As always, Rabbi Richman’s talk was thought provoking, challenging and good.

Is personal or communal comfort a good reason for a man to rot in jail for life when he didn’t do anything to deserve it?

Do realpolitik and pragmatism conflict with idealism, nationalism, and patriotism? Is the United States helping or hindering Israel’s survival? What is the future of Jerusalem, Bethel, Hebron and Tel Aviv?

Bowing to international demands may be logical, but standing up to them is no less so. Anyone who has fought a school yard bully knows that the act of defiance, while demanding some bravery, pays off real-world dividends.

Good news for Israel. The OECD voted unanimously to invite Israel to join. Unanimous votes are the only way nations are admitted to the OECD.

At the time of the expulsion members of Hebron’s leadership were involved in serious talks with high-ranking members of the defense ministry in an attempt to bring a peaceful end to the crisis. However, despite these negotiations, Barak decided to violently expel the building’s Jewish residents.

By the end of 2009, the number of illegal [Arab] buildings grew to an estimated 150,000. The scope of the theft is so vast that the Comptroller’s Report referred to it as a “national scourge.”
